Understand → Improve → Validate

From questions to decisions

Make payment security a business capability.

Payment channels change. Suppliers change. Your compliance programme needs to keep pace. We help turn a complex payment ecosystem into clear boundaries, accountable actions and evidence that supports the appropriate validation route.

01

Protect Customer Trust

Strengthen the controls around payment account data and reduce avoidable exposure.

02

Focus the Investment

Examine segmentation, tokenisation and payment outsourcing to reduce unnecessary scope where justified.

03

Prepare with Confidence

Organise requirements, responsibilities and evidence before assessment deadlines become a delivery problem.

When it adds value

Focus effort where it can make a difference.

An Approaching Assessment

Prepare for an SAQ or formal assessment with a clear view of gaps and evidence.

New Payment Channels

Understand the implications of e-commerce, point-of-sale, telephone payments or a new payment provider.

Unclear Compliance Boundaries

Identify systems, people and third parties that store, process, transmit or can affect payment data security.

A Programme That Is Hard to Sustain

Replace last-minute evidence gathering with repeatable control checks and accountable ownership.

Service areas

A complete view of payment security.

These are examples for scoping, not an all-inclusive package. Technologies, delivery expertise, access requirements and outputs are confirmed before an engagement.

01

Payment Ecosystem & Validation Strategy

What applies to your organisation?

Example scope
Merchant or service-provider role, payment channels, transaction volumes and acquirer obligations.
What we examine
Payment-brand requirements, SAQ eligibility and the assessment route agreed with your compliance-accepting entity.
Evidence to take away
A compliance strategy and agreed validation assumptions.
02

Data Discovery & Scope Reduction

Where does payment data flow?

Example scope
Cardholder data flows, system inventories, connected systems, third-party dependencies and network boundaries.
What we examine
Segmentation, tokenisation and outsourcing options, including retained responsibilities.
Evidence to take away
CDE documentation and a justified scope-reduction plan.
03

Gap Assessment & Remediation Planning

Which gaps need attention first?

Example scope
Applicable PCI DSS requirements, technical evidence, documents and operational practices.
What we examine
Control design and operation, evidence gaps, business impact and remediation dependencies.
Evidence to take away
A requirements matrix and prioritised roadmap with owners and milestones.
04

Technical Safeguards & Testing

Are controls working in the environment?

Example scope
Agreed network, access, encryption, hardening, logging and vulnerability-management controls.
What we examine
Configuration evidence and testing needs; penetration testing, segmentation testing and ASV scanning are coordinated where required.
Evidence to take away
Implementation guidance and an agreed testing and validation plan.
05

Policy, People & Operational Processes

Can the controls be sustained?

Example scope
Security policies, access reviews, change and patch management, awareness, supplier oversight and incident response.
What we examine
Practical procedures, responsibilities, training needs and consistency of execution.
Evidence to take away
Tailored documentation, responsibility assignments and role-based awareness materials.
06

Evidence & Continuous Compliance

Can you demonstrate progress and maintain it?

Example scope
Evidence collection, SAQ completion support or ROC preparation, assessor liaison and compliance maintenance.
What we examine
Traceability of evidence, open findings, control review schedules and change-triggered scope reviews.
Evidence to take away
An assessment-readiness pack and ongoing compliance calendar.

How it works

From discovery to sustainable compliance.

  1. 01

    Confirm the Route

Agree objectives, stakeholders, payment channels and acquirer or payment-brand validation expectations.

  2. 02

    Map the Environment

Document payment flows, assets, suppliers and the boundaries of the cardholder data environment.

  3. 03

    Assess the Gaps

Review applicable requirements and available evidence; prioritise weaknesses by risk and dependency.

  4. 04

    Implement Improvements

Agree remediation work packages, strengthen controls and develop practical policies and procedures.

  5. 05

    Prepare Validation

Support SAQ completion or ROC readiness and coordinate with the appointed QSA or ASV where needed.

  6. 06

    Maintain the Programme

Establish review cycles, evidence ownership, training and monitoring of material changes.

What you receive

Clear enough to decide.
Detailed enough to act.

The reporting package is agreed around your audience and the decisions it needs to support.

For Leadership & Programme Owners

  • Diagnostic assessment and compliance strategy.
  • Prioritised remediation roadmap with responsibilities and milestones.
  • Scope-reduction recommendations and key delivery dependencies.
  • Continuous compliance calendar and governance framework.

For Technical & Assessment Teams

  • Payment data-flow diagrams, asset inventory and CDE documentation.
  • Requirements matrix, tailored policies and implementation guidance.
  • Evidence repository structure and testing records for agreed controls.
  • SAQ support or ROC preparation materials and assessor liaison.

Meaningful progress

Track the improvement.
Keep the evidence.

Agree what completion means for each action: an approved design decision, a reviewed configuration, a resolved finding or a demonstrated process. Record owners, dependencies, exceptions and the evidence available.

Maintain evidence between assessments. Revisit scope and responsibilities when payment channels, systems or service providers change.

Preparing the engagement

Start with the right context.

01

Payment Environment

  • List payment channels, business entities and processors.
  • Share existing diagrams, inventories and previous assessment results.
02

Validation Expectations

  • Provide acquirer or payment-brand instructions and deadlines.
  • Confirm merchant or service-provider role and any appointed assessor.
03

Evidence & Owners

  • Nominate payment, IT, security, business and supplier contacts.
  • Agree secure access to relevant documentation and configuration evidence.
04

Delivery Boundaries

  • Confirm implementation, testing and third-party work to be included.
  • Agree change windows, responsibilities, dependencies and acceptance criteria.

Reference guidance: PCI SSC: PCI DSS and supporting guidance. Relevant practices are selected for the agreed scope; validation and reporting expectations are confirmed with your acquirer or payment brand.

Clear boundaries

Know what the work establishes.

Consulting and readiness support are agreed around your environment. Formal QSA assessment, ASV scanning, remediation implementation and independent validation are included only where explicitly scoped. Your organisation retains responsibility for operating controls and accurate compliance submissions.

Practical questions

Before we get started.

Who needs to consider PCI DSS?

PCI DSS applies to entities that store, process or transmit payment account data, and entities that can affect the security of the cardholder data environment. Your payment arrangements and role determine the scope and validation obligations.

Do we need an SAQ or a ROC?

This depends on payment-brand and acquirer requirements, your role and your environment. SAQs have specific eligibility criteria. We help clarify the appropriate route with the entity accepting your compliance submission.

Does outsourcing payments remove our responsibilities?

No. Outsourcing can reduce scope, but you still need to understand and manage your retained responsibilities, service-provider arrangements and the applicable requirements.

Is this a certification service?

This is consulting, implementation and assessment-preparation support. Formal assessment or scanning by a QSA or ASV is arranged where required. Compliance acceptance rests with the relevant payment brand or acquirer; a successful outcome is not guaranteed.

Does PCI DSS compliance cover GDPR or other privacy laws?

Some security controls can support wider governance, but PCI DSS validation does not establish compliance with GDPR, UAE PDPL or other privacy laws. Those obligations need their own assessment.

Which version do you work against?

The programme is scoped against the applicable PCI DSS version and current supporting guidance. PCI SSC currently lists PCI DSS v4.0.1; validation expectations are confirmed at the start of the engagement.
